Have you heard the story of how these two met in the air?
JacqueRae Hill is a flight attendant working for Southwest Airlines. She was working a flight to Panama City. She happened to see Doug Parker reading White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard for White People to Talk about Racism by Robin DiAngelo. Very much intrigued, she sat down and had a 10 minute conversation with him.
JacqueRae discovered that Doug Parker was not a frequent flyer of Southwest. He is actually the CEO of American Airlines, and flying Southwest because the flights on American Airlines were full due to COVID-19 and social distancing. He was reading that book because he felt that it was important to have these conversations during our difficult times.
