Shocking Video of Police Brutality in Buffalo, NY

Assault by police officers in Buffalo, NY.

When you see a video like this, there's absolutely no denying that police brutality exists.

In this stomach-turning incident (warning: graphic video), a 75-year-old man is violently shoved by police officers, dressed in riot gear while marching through Buffalo’s Niagara Square.

The man falls down on the pavement, hitting his head and immediately starts bleeding by the ears. Most of the officers do nothing to help him. One policeman attempts to check on him, but is shooed away by a colleague.

Two of the officers involved have been suspended without pay. The cops initially claimed the man tripped and fell, but the video clearly shows otherwise.

The man was eventually transported to a hospital and is in serious but stable condition.

In response to the suspensions, 57 members of the Buffalo police force resigned from a special squad in a protest of their own — which means they believe the officers involved did nothing wrong. Which is exactly why we need these protests to keep going.

UPDATE: The two officers involved were charged with assault. Aaron Torgalski, 39, and Robert McCabe, 32, turned themselves in Saturday, a day after video surfaced of the officers shoving 75-year-old Martin Gugino to the ground. Read the story here.
